We know that for most of us anymore ordering beef directly from a grower isn't that common. While our grandparents may have known how to select different cuts of beef, many of us haven't had that opportunity. Until now!!!

Q&A
Q: Is your beef really grown differently than the beef we can buy at the store?
A: Absolutely! Our cattle are born here on our farm and live here on only grass for there whole lives. Most cattle are sent to a feedlot when they are 10-12 months old. At the feedlot they are feed a diet that is focused on gaining as many pounds per day as possible, with the goal of creating a very well-marbled (fat) animal quickly. While this is the market we as Americans have demanded (basically prime beef is fat beef), we are seeing a shift, to those of us who realize that while lean beef can take more care to cook, it's better and healthier.
Q: Roughly how much beef will I get with a quarter of a grass finished beef?
A: A quarter of a beef after full processing will be roughly 70-90lbs of finished cuts. We will split up the cuts from the whole half into roughly equal quarters. For those new to this...the beef cuts are identical across the two halves, but the front quarter is different from the hind quarter. So our processors will split up the cuts from the whole half so you each get some cuts from the front and some from the hind quarter....Phew...that's a lot!!! But don't worry we will make it very easy for you to understand as you go through the process.
Q: If I choose to order a quarter of a beef, how much freezer space will it take?
A: A quarter of a beef will usually fill about 3 cu/ft of space or 3 boxes 6" deep and about 18"x24". If you order a half, it will be about twice that amount.
Q: How do you calculate the cost of the beef?
A: You pay for the cost of the beef, and for processing. Our quarter's today have, after the cost of processing averaged about $950-1400 per quarter, which ends up being about $13.50-16.00/lb after processing, as an average across all of your cuts.
Q: If I'm not ready to order yet, can I get on a waitlist to be notified when beef is available?
A: Yes, go to the menu option above that says Home and scroll all the way to the bottom....you will see a "Get on our Notification List" option, click on it, or just click here if you prefer, it will take you to the same place.......once there add your information to our notification list. When we have beef available you will get an email. Or if you are ready and want to make a deposit on a quarter or half of beef, go to the next question below.
Q: How do I order beef?
A: If you go to the Order Beef menu option above or click here....you can scroll down and pay a $50 deposit to get on our list of a quarter or $100 for a half. Once you make a deposit you will receive a confirmation email that your email went through. When you order you will see if it's for a Spring Delivery or Fall Delivery. We butcher every year close to April and then again in September. About a month before that time you will receive a video from us that will explain more details, it will also send you to a link where you will choose how to have the beef custom processed for you. Don't worry we walk you through the choices to make it easy. Then after your beef is processed we deliver to your doorstep (*given you live within 60 miles or so of our farm).
Beforehand you will receive an electronic copy of your invoice, with the final price after processing. You will be able to pay via cash, check, or from the invoice directly with a credit card.
